Μοναστήρια Παναγία Φιλανθρωπινή
The Monastic Center “Panagia Filanthropini” is located in Ormylia, Halkidiki.
It is the charitable institution of the Holy Synod of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, a large monastic community with over 120 nuns from various nations, the majority of whom hold university degrees.
The Center was founded by the Reverend Elder, Archimandrite Emilianos, with the mission of providing relief and support to suffering people with an emphasis on the poor and working people without any discrimination towards race, nationality, sex, religion or creed.
The Center is dedicated to the dynamic spreading of the message of God’s Love and saving Grace to all people. This message takes the form of medical care, educational and scientific research, social and spiritual services. These are the means by which the Center seeks to serve the needs of modern humans in the 210th century and beyond.
The building complex of the Monastic Center is a beautiful traditional Byzantine construction with over 8000 m2 in which the Christian Orthodox architectural tradition is harmoniously combined with modern technology in a beautiful and natural environment.
In the middle of the Center, the axis according to the Saint tradition is the church of Panagia Filanthropini, which is a place of pilgrimage and a spiritual oasis for those who come to the holy foundation. Adorned with Byzantine icons, the work of the brothers of Koinobius, the icon of the Theotokos Philanthropini on the iconostasis of the Church is experienced by the faithful as a center of the Grace of the Virgin Mary, who as a Compassionate Mother responds directly to daily needs.
The Center’s facilities include a multilingual conference center and a high-tech laboratory for medical services and research.
